Closed stacks
The library houses parts of its collection in closed stacks ("Magazin"), which are not accessible to the public. You can request an item from a closed stack through Discovery or the Catalogue. You will need your user number and password to do so. The order will be added to your account, and you will receive an email when the item is ready for pick-up.
The following is a list of Rostock University Library's closed stacks.
Campusbibliothek Südstadt: Magazin
During service hours, orders from the Südstadt stacks are generally filled within one hour. Requests outside of service hours will be processed on the following day. You will receive an email when your item is ready for pick-up.
You then have 7 days to collect the item before the order is cancelled and the item returned to the stacks.
Außenmagazin Tannenweg
Items requested from the Tannenweg stacks are available for pick-up at Campus Library Südstadt within 7 seven days of placing the order. You will receive a confirmation email when the item is ready.
You then have 7 days to collect the item before the order is cancelled and the item returned to the stacks.
Bücherspeicher
The Bücherspeicher is part of the Richard Wossidlo Centre.
Books and other media from the Bücherspeicher stacks can be collected from the Linguistics and Literary Studies Library. You will receive an email once the item is ready for pick-up.
You then have 7 days to collect the item before the order is cancelled and the item returned to the stacks.
Old prints and other literature that can only be read in the library will generally be made available for 4 weeks in the reading room of the Special Collections Library.
