Requirements of additional funding agencies

It makes sense to think about the management of research data when conceiving a research project. Often, when submitting project proposals, it is required to provide general information about the processing, storage, archiving, and long-term reuse of research data. This is then described, for example, in a data management plan.

A comparative overview of what funding agencies require in the field of research data management has been compiled by the Leibniz Information Centre for Economics (ZBW).

Due to the dynamic situation regarding the requirements, it is still recommended to research the current regulations directly with the respective funding agency:

Services Support for Projects

It makes sense to think about the management of research data when conceiving a research project. Often, when submitting project proposals, it is required to provide general information about the processing, storage, archivierung, and long-term reuse of research data. This is then described in a data management plan.

The University Library offers support for various questions:

  • Organizational Advisory Services
    This includes support for submitting proposals, policies/anforderungen of various research funding agencies, questions about publishing research data, referring to potentially relevant services of the own and other institutions, reviewing your data management plan, etc.
  • Technical Advisory Services
    This includes data collection, data storage (during the project and after the project ends), data formats, metadata to be collected, metadata formats/vocabularies, conversion, etc.
  • Legal Information
    The University Library provides information on suitable licenses (Creative Commons licenses, software licenses), copyright, and questions about data protection. The UB cannot, however, provide legal advice.
